What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. On your next visit the site reads them to recall what it already knows, such as which language you picked.
On their own they do not identify you. Some kinds of cookie can process personal data under GDPR, which is why they are grouped into categories by what they are for.
The cookies this site stores
Two, and both are necessary for the site to work, so by law we do not need your consent for them.

What we do not use
To be clear about what is not running here. This is deliberate, not an oversight.
- No analytics cookies. There is no Google Analytics, GA4, Google Tag Manager or any other measurement service on this site.
- No advertising cookies. No Meta pixel, no Google Ads remarketing, no conversion tracking.
- No behavioural profiling tools such as heatmaps or session recording.
- We do not connect your behaviour on this site to your social media profile.
Third party cookies and the map
A Google map is available on the Contact page. It does not load on its own. A placeholder with a button is shown instead, and the map loads only once you press it.
Until you press it, your browser sends no request to Google at all. Google does not learn about your visit and cannot set any cookie.
If you do load the map, Google may store its own cookies in your browser, such as NID, and process your IP address. Those cookies are set by Google rather than by us, we have no access to them, and they are governed by Google privacy policy.
The map is the only third party content anywhere on this site. If you would rather not load it, the office address is also written out as plain text on the Contact page.
Links to our social media profiles are ordinary links. Nothing loads until you click one.
The consent banner
On your first visit a consent bar appears at the bottom of the page. It offers three options: accept everything, reject the optional categories, or open the settings and decide category by category.
There are three categories. Necessary is always on and cannot be refused. Analytics and marketing are off by default and are only switched on if you turn them on yourself.
To be precise about it: no analytics or advertising tool currently runs on this site, so even if you do consent, nothing loads right now and no additional cookie is created. The banner is built ahead of time. If we later add something like Google Analytics, it will follow the decision you have already made, and we will not have to ask you again.
You can change your decision at any time through the Cookie settings link in the footer of any page.
Google Consent Mode v2
The site implements Google Consent Mode v2. In practice this means that as the page loads, before any other script, the default consent state is set to denied for all four advertising and measurement parameters: ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization and analytics_storage.
They only move to granted once you consent, and only for the categories you actually allowed. The ordering matters: if any Google tool were to load before the default is set, one measurement would happen without consent, and that cannot be undone after the fact.
Consent and the marble_consent cookie
We have to remember your decision somewhere, otherwise the banner would appear on every page load. It is stored in our own cookie named marble_consent. It holds only which categories you allowed and the date you decided. It contains no identifier and cannot be used to recognise you.
That cookie is itself necessary: what it stores is the fact that you have already been asked. It lasts one year, after which the banner appears again.
Managing or deleting cookies
You can view, delete or fully block stored cookies at any time in your browser. The setting is usually under Privacy and security.

What happens if you block cookies
The site keeps working. The only thing you lose is the language memory, so each visit may redirect you again based on your browser settings. Nothing else changes.
